Top uses for my (yet to be purchased) iPad:

1: TV viewing. You just know that Netflix is eventually going to stream to this device. Plus, I’ll be able to give it to my kids if they want to watch TV in their rooms.

2: Web browsing. In this case I think the main advantage is portability. I know a laptop can browse as well as the iPad will, but I think the biggest factor in favor of the iPad is the projected battery life. 10 hours on a single charge is a long time. It seems like my laptop starts crying low charge after an hour or so. If the battery life is genuine, I can see this thing being used as the primary family web browser.

3: Apps. Especially when Google Docs is available.  Let’s see, iPad + 3GS + Google Docs + Dropbox + gmail + the app store = universal access to all my documents and programs.

4: Music. I can’t wait to try Beatmaker on the iPad. The additional screen real estate should greatly improve the interface. Hopefully they’ll add synths to the app. That along with a piano-type keyboard option would make this thing a must-have for solo/duo performers.

This list doesn’t even include stuff like blogging, facebook, twitter, gaming, etc… I think this thing is going to sell like crazy. It’s like the Nintendo Wii of computers.
